Progress and Change
I would love to write something profound and witty for you today.
In the interest of efficiency and a need for a good night’s sleep, however, I’m opting for simple. In the next few days, I will be rolling out some changes for the blog and I wanted you to have a bit of a heads-up. Let’s just say I’m doing some work on my One Word for the year – progress – among other things.
For now, let me give you just a bit to get started…
If you’ve seen me comment on your blog lately, you may have noticed that I’ve changed my blogging e-mail address slightly and I’ve started using a new gravatar. If you look around the blog you might notice another surprise hiding somewhere. (Thanks Sarah and Ivy for your help on that one.)
I’ve used this little crop from my blog’s original header image since I started the blog in June of 2012. The original header came from a photo I took one day when I came home and noticed a single read leaf hanging among all the other green ones in the tree outside our front door.
Somewhere along the line, I switched my header to what you see at the top of the blog now. I tried cropping a little gravatar out of there but when I started to use it, several people told me they didn’t recognize me in comments or a linkup because they were looking for my little red leaf and it wasn’t there.
The time has come, though, to make some changes in this space – and I promise I’ll tell you more about why. For now, just know that I made that little switch to my e-mail address (see the Contact page if you didn’t get it already) and I have started to use this sweet new gravatar when commenting and posting links:
I’ve take a few of my blog’s pages off the menu bar at the top of the front page, but only temporarily. Right now you’ll see only my original About page, my Contact page, and my Buttons and Things page.
For the next few days, I’ll be working on the changes I plan to roll out this week. I will also be spending some time writing offline and catching up on some reading – I have 1000Speak posts, FTSF posts, TToT posts, and some real-life tangible book pages to get through.
While I may not post anything here for a couple of days, I’m sure I’ll catch you via whatever means we usually use to chat with one another and I will definitely be around to read blog posts. If I haven’t visited you in a while, I’m sorry and I miss reading you – I’ll be there soon!
Look for my roll out post later this week. And you know I’ll be in for the TToT on the weekend.
~ XO
Frist?
FRIST! And back in spam…W.T.F.?
I’m intrigued. Good luck with the changes! I hope the roll out goes smoothly.
Good! And thanks…I think it will be good.
I’m DYING of curiosity!
That’s the idea…
smiles from me. 🙂
🙂 Thanks!
Can’t wait to see what’s in store! I love the new profile photo. Very peaceful looking. 🙂
It’s from a very peaceful place.
Hmmmmmm.cool!
I will bet you won’t have to guess too hard where I’m going with it.
I admire you for making changes. I need to look around for a new theme maybe and a new header. Will be looking forward to reading more when I get back next week.
Thanks, Val. This has been a few months in the making but I finally know where I want to go. Have a great trip!
Best of luck! Can’t wait to see the changes!
How funny that this just popped in – I was JUST over on your blog reading about salmon and scallops and peas!
I’m excited. It’s going to be awesome!
I’m excited to see what changes you make, brave girl!
😀
Oooooh!!! I can’t WAIT to see the changes!!! GO PROGRESS!!!
Progress is good. 🙂
How exciting! I recently changed things up over at Just TypiKel and have more work to do. It is so refreshing to tweak, chuck out and replace. Am dying to see your new look!
That’s about where I am, Kelly – I have some things I’m ready to put out and then I have a “phase two” sort of thing in mind. I just didn’t want to wait forever to get started with the changes. Fun!
I did notice a change in a comment you left me recently and thought you must be busy over here. I have hardly found time for minimal play online recently. I hear we may be in for two storms the level of which the rest of the country has been dealing with all winter. Maybe I will be gifted with a snow day to catch up my reading!
That’s definitely a good time to catch up on things – but sorry it will have to be with nasty big storms! I’m looking forward to being finished, but it looks like we have another messy one coming this weekend.
I can’t wait to see the changes. I’m sure they’ll be amazing!
Hi, Jean! I am a little behind on getting the changes finished – really thought I’d be ready by now.
I haven’t been over to your place in a while, but I just saw a post that said you haven’t been posting. I’ll catch up soon!
That’s awesome! Change is good. I’ve been making a few of my own on my blog – very subtle, but potentially some big ones down the line. keep at it and make your blog as good as it can get.
Thanks, Steve! Looking forward to seeing the new things at your place, too.
