No Words
Of course, the Nation and the World’s eyes and hearts are turned to Sandy Hook, CT today. Like everyone, Fab Hub and I would like to know why…what causes something like this to happen?
But there is no answer, no explanation, nor will there ever likely be – at least not one that satisfies.
Zilla is napping in her bedroom right now and I feel that she is too too far away from me. But that is nothing compared to what the parents of these little ones from Sandy Hook are experiencing – or even the parents and families of those adults who perished with them.
No words can express our shock, our sadness, our grief at events like these. No words really offer solace. And so we can only hug one another a little more tightly and turn to words of prayer.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
May there be peace and life for all of us and for all Israel. Let us say, Amen. Let He who makes peace in the heavens, grant peace to all of us and to all Israel. Let us say, Amen. (Final lines from the Mourners Kaddish)
