Oh What a Song!
I am working on another prompt for Mama Kat’s Thursday link-up, but it’s going to be late. Or I won’t finish it. We’ll see.
In the meantime, I can absolutely think of an “old school” song that makes me happy. I have loved it my whole life. OK, well, since I was about five years old, since it was released in 1975. This song never fails to make me happy. If I hear it in the car, all the windows get opened wide and I sing my little heart out while doing some car dancing.
If you don’t prefer the “wow those dudes are getting long in the tooth” live version, here’s a great remix. This one came out the year I graduated from high school.
And of course, the original…
Are you happy yet? I am. Still love it.

This did indeed put a much needed smile on my face!
Mission accomplished! It’s awesome, isn’t it?
This song always brings a smile to my face. I remember hearing it when I was young so it brings me back to those times.
Yup, I love it – always have. It’s amazing how music can transport us to another time, another place like that. Powerful stuff.
You were 5….I was a freshman in high school! Loved it then, love it still.
My uncle is about your age, then – it is largely because of him and a second uncle that I owe my vast exposure to 70s music. Grew up listening to their “teenager” songs as a little kid and they’ve stuck with me always. Great memories.
Smiling here. Thanks for the pick me up Lisa. M
Anytime!
There are definitely some songs that make me sing at full volume as I drive down the road. The other day I was on my neighborhood walk, and “Play that Funky Music” came on. I dance/strutted the whole time the music was playing.
Isn’t it great how much joy songs can bring to our lives?
Oh that’s a good one! Definitely a feel-good song. At my sister’s wedding reception this weekend, my daughter discovered “Funky Town” and had a blast! Also an oldie but goodie!
Oh, this song! It’s a part of my life in so many ways. Love it!
I know – I love it.
