TToT – Friends
Know that song? The one about getting by with a little help from your friends?
Well here you go…take a listen and I’ll do the TToT thing for you.
Yep, this is the Joe Cocker Woodstock performance. Crazy. Love. I’ll tuck the Beatles in at the end for you, too. You’re welcome.
This week, I am thankful for…
Friends who will offer support, advice, encouragement, a laugh, reinforcement…and so many other things.
Friends who send fun messages to read and listen to just because.
Friends who think of you and send a special e-mail with something so personal and heartfelt to share.
Friends who are forgiving when you take a long time to answer a text, call, e-mail, etc. and understand it’s because sometimes just…life.
Friends who aren’t offended when time passes and we don’t talk and are just as happy to continue conversation when we finally do.
Friends who check on you just to make sure you haven’t left the planet.
Friends who respect the silence, but don’t let you stay silent for too long.
Friends who cancel plans because they can be honest enough to say it’s just not a good day or they don’t really feel like putting on pants.
Friends who become an avenue to opportunity, even if they don’t realize it.
Friends who help in ways they may never know or understand.
Love is good.

Your turn: What are you thankful for this week? Who are the friends you can turn to for help, humor, and a hand? Do you remember your very first friend? Is anybody else a fan of the TV show Friends? Did anyone know Mumford and Sons does a pretty decent cover of this song, too?
You know the drill – share ’em or link ’em!
Your hosts
Friends who are grateful for your friendship as well….and in answer to your question….yeah…of course….when you comin????????
Ha – thank you! And I have no idea. We’d have to figure that out, wouldn’t we?
Omg im frist!!!! Go me! Go me!
You are indeed frist!
This is just a lovely post! You are spot-on.
Thanks. I like being spot-on. I don’t think that happens often!
I have been watching re-runs of the Wonder Years and this song kept ringing in my head too. We all need friends who will bear with us if we sang out of tune!
That was a great show, Michelle! Wow, I haven’t seen a rerun of that in forever.
Friends are good for all this and more.
🙂
I had a lovely afternoon with my friend and her baby daughter the other day.
🙂
We went to lunch and took a walk in the park by my house.
What would we do without our friends?
That sounds like a wonderful day, Kerry!
I love this post, Lisa. The music and the tributes to your friends are meaningful and a reminder that our friends help define us. Again, I love this post.
Thanks, Val. 🙂
lol
nice timing… synchronicity sho can be fun!
(for my own posting of the same video…on the way to the office this morning, listening to my college stations… ‘A Little Help from my Friends’ followed by ‘Start-Spangled Banner’ (Hendrix) and I was all, ‘holy shit! it must be Woodstock time again!’
soon as I got to my office, it was all about finding the vid and adding it excellent listation!
I love that you had the same video! Awesome. There is much to be said for the original, of course, but I particularly love the Cocker.
Awwwwh I LOVE this post. Definitely, utterly love it. I love the exuberance and joy with which it was written, and I love how heartfelt and delight-filled it is. And I love the writer, too 😀
Aww. Well, the writer loves you right back. Yeah I don’t quite know where it came from – it just did. I might actually have a second one brewing. We’ll see…
This post made me smile. I spent all morning (and most of the afternoon) Friday catching up with a good friend.
That’s awesome, Jean!
Love Joe Cocker! And friends. The best ones who love us warts and all.
I’ve missed you this summer. Feels like I have barely been on here at all. Don’t exactly know what it has been about my schedule that has kept me from my online fun, but I am hoping it has ended now that school has started.
I’ve missed you too, May! This summer has been quite a ride – exceptional in so many ways. We’ll catch up soon enough!
Every single one is TRUE…when you find those friends, they are forever friends. It’s quality over quantity:) Great post!!
Thanks, Kim. I don’t know if I really agree on the forever part, but I’d like to think so.
Great song to start a post.
Friends have been key for me this week, too. It’s a week I’m reminded of when our oldest was first born. We had just moved to Indy a month before, and I didn’t’t know a soul. I have never been so lonely in my life. This week could have rivaled that, except this time I had friends with whom I could commiserate. Friends make all the difference in the world.
Friends make a huge difference. And I’ve learned quite a lot about the value over the last year or so.
Good friends are the best. I know mine have helped me through many hard times and celebrated the good times too.
That’s the best, Vanessa!
Friends are the family we choose. <3
Well said.
Friends are awesome! Whenever I hear that song, it reminds me of The Wonder Years!
Me, too, Roshni. That was a great show!
Love the cancelling because it’s too hard to put on pants! So funny and true!
The friends you can pick up with after time, as if you never left off, are the very, truly best.
Pants are overrated. 😀
And yes, they are the best. I love those.
Also so glad we chatted last night. I was fading fast towards the end (I don’t have the ability to stay awake that you and Lizzi have), but my offer still stands.
Yes, me too and I know. Thanks.:) <3
