TToT – Lights!
Time is really getting away from me this week.
I definitely don’t like when it gets to be Sunday afternoon and I still haven’t done my TToT. So I’m thankful that I’m finally getting this done, even if it is a very weak effort.
For this week, can I just say I’m thankful that we finally put up some decorations? The tree is up, although we have this weird half-lit thing going on. Seems appropriate since I can only get myself about halfway to having any Christmas spirit this year. No idea what that’s about.
I’m also thankful the outdoor lights are on the bushes outside. Zilla loves having lights. I’m thankful the Hub does the raising of the tree and the hanging of the lights.
I’m thankful that I wrote a Six Sentence Story again this week – love those – and that it was well received (by the four people who read it – LOL). I needed to write something just for me, not a client.
And as a holiday gift, the SGV are allowing me to skate by with only these few small items and a Bah Humbug because I have an imminent deadline looming dark over my head and I must get back to it.

Merry Christmas, Lisa. No lights outside for us this year. Oh, well. Maybe next year. Candles in the windows with wreaths hung on each. That’ll do. Enjoy Zilla’s time off over the holidays.
I love candles in the window, Val. But I have three Rotten Cats…the candle thing does not work, even with velcro to hold them.

We didn’t pull out even half of our decorations this year. It’s ok. Celebrations don’t require them. 🙂

Work is finished. I do have a new contract, but the deadline is much more flexible so pressure’s off for a while! Have a wonderful Christmas!
Norman Rockwell really should have paired up with a humorist, to give us all “the rest of the story” of his paintings. For all we know, the turkey in his Thanksgiving photo dropped on the floor before it made it to the table! Life–good life, loving life–is still filled with half-lighted Christmas trees, but that doesn’t need to dim the enjoyment of the season. I hope you have a peaceful, calm, merry Christmas!
I love that perspective on Rockwell’s images – real life truly is what goes on behind the scenes. I’m going with the “it doesn’t have to be perfect” approach. Have a wonderful holiday!

Yes, we have the decorations up. It’s been hard to get in the spirit this year – no idea why – but Zilla is totally into it so all for her.

My tree is less of a tree and more of a cedar branch. I miss those days when I loved to go driving around at night to look at all the houses with Christmas lights, but I can’t see them anymore. I still love lights. I don’t get nearly as into the season these last few years, but seeing it all just beginning to occur to my niece and nephews is priceless and still gives me something to aim for. I bet the same goes for you and your daughter.
