TToT – Five Day Week
Oh, hey…it’s Sunday afternoon already and I still haven’t managed to get my TToT post done.
This was our first five day week since school started and yes that extra day does make a difference. We’re definitely settling into the school year routine, though, and that’s a pretty good thing.
But let’s get this list of thankfuls moving along, shall we?
Let’s start with being thankful for an absolutely gorgeous – and NOT stinking hot – almost early fall day. Yay. No photos today, but here’s a shot of our very first glimpse of fall from a couple of weeks ago at the mountain…

And look what arrived in the mail today…or at some point this week. Just emptied the box today… I am looking forward to re-reading these.

Great meeting with Zilla’s team at school this week and a great week for Zilla all around. This kid is tearing up second grade and meeting her challenges like a boss.
A fun (and safe) trip to and from NYC with Mom and Super Sister to see Les Mis with Alfie Boe…awesome. Awesome. And yes, I did take a touristy photo or three (much to my Sister’s chagrin), thank you very much. I wanted Zilla to see where I was.

Zilla-Daddy time for Zilla and The Fab Hub/Dad. That time is very special for them. And, not gonna lie, me too.
Rotten Cats who are just too freaking cute to truly hate. Nice to have a welcoming committee when I come home from dropping Zilla at school in the morning. We do coffee together.
Speaking of coffee, the Hub’s coffee. And today, the Hub’s carpet and floor cleaning efforts. He doesn’t really like doing toilets, I don’t really like doing floors. It works.
A vacation from Facebook. Too much going on there for me right now and far too many things that upset me. I needed a break. I may continue it.
More work leads, referrals, etc. Starting to feel like this self-employed thing just might work out OK after all. Of course, now I am instantly terrified that I’ve spoken too soon, so I’ll shut up.

The father daughter relationship is special. Mine is with my father. Glad yours had their time together. And I know what you mean about the warm welcome from a cat or two.

My guy can purr really really loudly and run circles around my legs. It’s funny.
My Hub was actually the first of the two of us to meet and hold Zilla and I think that’s a great part of their bond.
Cats are hilarious – they do such funny things. Right now mine are playing with a ball of foil like it’s World Cup Soccer.
fall is not bad (not like, say Winter bad…awful), but I’ll trade in the fabulous colors of Autumn for a nice health, 90+ heat wave any old day of the week!
Now that I think of it, I’m not such a fan of the Fall except that yard work/work in the woods once again becomes feasible with the cooler temperatures, as most of the really scary multi-legged lifeforms have headed south for the season.
You may happily have your 90+, Clark. I hate it above 80. If I could have fallish weather all year I’d be deliriously happy. And yes, the nasty multi-legged lifeforms leaving is a boon. Although right now there is a nasty one living in a web outside our front door and he just keeps coming back – ugh.
I know exactly what you mean about taking a vacation from Facebook. I find myself scrolling past most things and just sticking to the cute animal videos.
Yup, exactly, Vanessa. That’s a mighty good approach. And some days, I just can’t engage in the time suck that inevitably happens.
Social media is exhausting. It’s important to have family and over priorities in the right alignment. I go to the city to see a play twice a year. We are headed in in December on a bus trip to see The King and I. Always a good time, there’s no place like NYC for a visit. Enjoy every moment of every day.
The city is not my favorite place at all. I am not much for the city vibe and I definitely hate the drive in – I have terrible highway anxiety. But the show was amazing and definitely the time with family.
It would make your sister crazy to travel with me. I have been known to photograph doorknobs let alone city street scenes! She would ditch me pronto.
Your photos are always great, though, May. Very cool that you notice details like that. But yeah, my sister would probably ditch! 😀

Social media. So addicting and so sad and also so gah. Real is much much better. I’m really bummed that it didn’t work for us to meet in the for real but love that you had NYC (LOVE!) and the cats and all of it. XOXO to you. Huge.

How fun to go see Les Mis with your Mom and Sis. Fun times. I really like that first photo of the tree and the fall colors starting to emerge.

The photo was so great – I think it was about two weeks ago – and it was the only spot of color we saw that day. But as the temps cool and the leaves change there will be more stunning photos!
We need a catch-up, but I can’t seem to catch up on my life. Ugh. After this shower I’m throwing this weekend maybe.
Yeah we do. I’m sort of caught upon life, just choosing to hibernate for a while. I guess. You know where to find me… hope the shower goes well!
Of course you should take tourist photos! The more places I’ve lived, the more I realize that if people travel from all over to visit someplace close to where I live, maybe I ought to take more photos and appreciate it, too!
That’s a very good point, Kristi. Well, I definitely took a couple of shots and Zilla loved seeing where I was that evening. So good call.
