Happy New Year to You!
Hello, dear readers and friends…
Yes, I am still alive.
I know I have been “off the grid,” here for a while. It really was unintentional. I posted two sort of gush-my-heart-out posts right after the events of Newtown, CT a couple of weeks ago and then…well, I just felt kind of off.
I had (and still have) several posts in process. And I started a few new ones, too. One day I felt like the post was too trivial in the aftermath of Newtown. Another day, I just never finished. Yet another we got caught up in the busy-ness and stuff of life. On other days we had various holiday gatherings and events to attend. Right after Christmas, I ended up in bed with some sort of 24-hour flu-like nonsense. Then I felt better. Then I had a horrible sinus headache. And so on and so on and blah blah blah.
The definite plus in all of that is that we have been having a wonderful time.
I have not lost my commitment to my efforts and enjoyment here. I have not forgotten you – in fact, I quite miss you! I think I am just scattered and distracted and the only solution to that is to start gathering up all my little bits and pieces and getting everything in line once again.
We have had a wonderful season of holidays these last few weeks. This Christmas, especially, has been fun and holy and wonderful in ways never imagined. I am truly blessed; my entire family is truly blessed. We are blessed many times over and for that, I am truly thankful. I actually started a post enumerating some of the great joys in my life and the things for which I am grateful…but it, too, is on the unfinished pile.
And so today’s post is simply a “hey, how are you and I’m still here” kind of placeholder. Some may call it a lame-out; others may say it’s honest. Whatever it is…it is me.
I’ll be posting again regularly – that is a promise! In the meantime, Kidzilla, the Fab Hub, and I wish all of you, your families, and friends, a safe, healthy, and very happy New Year!
