TToT – Fall is Here, Baby!
And that could be my entire post…truly.
I am beyond happy that the weather is starting to cool and the fall season is officially – and visibly – upon us. I think my soul’s natural season is autumn or something…I am never more at peace than during autumn.
Zilla and I brought out all of our fall decor for around the house – we are now pumpkin-ed and black cat-ed to the max. And the Three Rottens are right in season, too, so they’re extra happy. It’s very cool (and very creepy) to have three black cats milling about when reading a spooky Poe tale or two.
Here they are…my three creepy Rottens…
Zilla and I also filled our living room reading baskets and tables with our best autumn books. We have books filled with Gothic tales, apples, pumpkins, autumn leaves, Halloween, and Thanksgiving at our fingertips to enjoy on long warm afternoons and cool fall evenings.
We stayed up too late on a school night to catch some of the supermoon eclipse this evening. Will we be a bit tired tomorrow? Yup. Especially Zilla. But we wanted to let her see at least some of this rare event and witness the wonder of the universe firsthand. Have to admit it was pretty amazing when she whispered a prayer asking God to let the clouds move out of the way so she could see the last sliver of the moon disappear…and sure enough they did! The photo here is not of that moment, but that’s one I’ll remember forever.
And with that, I shall take my leave. It’s been a long day and it’s time for sleep. Hopefully, I’ve made it in to the linkup just in time…

Your hosts
I’m with you on the fall thing. There is just something about that wonderful crisp clear light that happens this time of year. I love having the windows open (even with all the neighborhood dogs carrying on) and actually feeling chilly some mornings.
I love the open windows, too, Vanessa. The only problem? Corn smut allergy and we live smack in the middle of corn fields! So I have to keep my A/C on more than I’d like just to filter the air. But oh, it’s gorgeous at this time of year! Today, a bit of a rainy muggy Monday, but cool enough at least that it doesn’t feel awful. I’ll take it.
not so much a fan of Autumn. Maybe the early part with the decent daytime weather, but the rest… pre-Winter.
I like the idea of staying up on a school night when there is something special going on in the (nearby) solar system… the super moon and eclipse very cool.
I know you aren’t, Clark, because the winter is definitely on its way.
I’m so glad we let her stay up to see it because now she has that memory and I know she loved it – she stood there in awe and said, “wow, my first eclipse!” Good call. And you know what, she was none the worse for wear this morning – got up and went about her business no differently than usual. In fact, she may have been slightly more pleasant than most days! 😀
Fall is definitely here and I’m glad you are in your best season. I like the idea of Fall decorating including books of the season. I missed the spectacular eclipse. I’m sure it was magical and Zilla has something to talk/write about in school today. Have a good week.
It’s absolutely my best season. The colors in our home? Definitely fall colors. Zilla jumped right on the books of the season thing – love that kid.
The eclipse was very cool and I’m so glad we let her stay up to see it. Those moments matter.
I love fall, too, and I’m a bit jealous that some places actually have fall weather now! Our highs are forecast to be in the 90’s all week.
We had quite a bit of high temps and summerlike weather through August, Kristi – although we shouldn’t be surprised because September is, after all, still mostly summer. I am so glad to be (hopefully) past the hot weather. Stay cool out there!
I am enjoying all the fall stories, and pictures and thoughts of apples and cinnamon, as I sit here drenched in way too much heat. I will have to have patience…much patience. I loved the pictures of the cats…so cute.
It got warm and muggy again here today, Cece. Not a happy camper. But right now I’m inside and it’s raining and the sound is like a lullaby…I’ll take it!
The Rotten Cats say thank you for the compliment.
So cold in here today and I am trying to write. I’m tempted to turn on the heat. This is a sign of fall and I loooove that.
🙂
Love watching the night skies and staying up late to do so.
🙂
Love everything autumn, including books and black cats. I love having mine. This will be my second Halloween with Lumos and it adds to the atmosphere of spookiness that I am trying to embrace more in recent years. I am excited to see what the following weeks of thankfuls will look and sound like.
No heat for me yet…I love to enjoy this in-between time.
We are so glad we let Zilla stay up to watch the eclipse – it was great.
Hello to Lumos from the Three Rottens!
