TToT – Let’s Just Do This
Hello, Friends.
I’ve been flying only a bit above radar lately. I think I’ll be back to posting a bit in the week ahead. In particular, you should stop by on Tuesday, April 14th because I will be hosting a little virtual interview with the lovely Tamara Woods of PenPaperPad. Come check that out.
Now let’s get down to the business of being thankful…
First, many thanks for all your notes and messages and comments in the last couple of weeks. There is nothing like knowing people care. There’s no way I can list everyone here without inadvertently omitting someone, so I think safe to say if you think you’re on my list of lovely people who sent virtual hugs, feel better messages, and just general love this week, you are completely right. And even if you think you’re not..you probably are.
Continuing that thought, I am thankful for the friendship and connections I’ve made through the world of the Internet in the last few years. And like many of you have said at other times in other places, geographical and physical boundaries be dammed – you are real and good friends.
I am thankful for several rainy days this week. I just love rainy days. That’s all. What’s not to love about the first rains of spring? The weather warms, the snow melts, the spring rains wash away all the dust and dirt that winter heaped upon us, and the air smells new and clean. I am so looking forward to getting back outside more and putting my bare toes in the grass.
But after four or five days of rain, I am equally thankful for two beautiful days this weekend. The grass and trees have not received the memo that it’s spring just yet, but the sky could not be more gorgeous up here on Witch Mountain. And you can’t deny the effect of a gorgeous sky like that on the mood and the spirit. I’m breathing that in deeply today.
I am thankful for rest. Lots of rest. I’ve been listening to my body and trying to respond appropriately with rest, a bit of exercise, and good food. It’s starting to work, I think, so fingers crossed.
I am also thankful for the Rotten Cats. Somehow, they just seem to know when I’m not feeling quite well and offer their sympathies. They are champion rest buddies. This one is enjoying the sun on the windowsill in all his stereotypical cat glory.
I am thankful for music, always. It is such an important part of life for me. I’ve listened to some old favorites and some new things this week and that’s been wonderful. Music has great power and the tunes I’ve been listening to this week (of all styles, genres, etc.) have been very good for my soul.
I am thankful for my Fab Hub and Kidzilla. I can’t imagine a life without them and am so glad we’ve had a real family weekend for the three of us. The week ahead is a busy one, so this was a nice little break.
At this very second, I am thankful for the Fab Hub and the Awesome Brother-in-Law because they are moving furniture so we can do some shifting of rooms in the house to better suit the way we live.
And that’s it for me because Kidzilla is waiting for me to watch a movie. Or play princess dolls or read poetry. Doesn’t matter which…I’m out. But thankful that I made it in for the TToT this week, even if late in the game.
Your turn: What are you thankful for this week? What is spring looking like in your world this week? What music have you been loving lately?
Here’s another happy little tune for you… Have a happy week ahead!

Your hosts
Frist? For real? Or is WP going to dump me in the spam folder?
Frist for real AND dumped in spam. BOOM!
I’m ALWAYS in your spam.
I know…and I can not figure out how to make that stop happening.
Hope your RA is easing up a bit. And that the Rotten Cats are doing their best to make you feel better as only cats can. I love the cat in the window! Our windows have been open all weekend, and two of them LOVE to lie there and watch the birds and squirrels (one is too fat to get in the window). They, of course, fight over the same window, even though TWO windows are open on the same wall with virtually the same view. And Jason Mraz? I like me some Jason Mraz!
I think the RA is easing up. I don’t feel quite as lousy as the last couple of weeks. Slow but sure progress.
Oh the Rottens love having the windows open! Even our fat boy can use the windows – but I don’t think he’s as big as your fat boy. They usually share the window space nicely. They get along pretty well.
And yes, Jason Mraz is awesome. I have all of his albums and am about to add the newest – not sure how I made it this long without grabbing it.
Glad you are rejuvenating! Happy you made it here this weekend too!
🙂
Music is fab, too. Lisa, I’ve missed you, but you are so right to take care of YOU before anything else. So often we neglect ourselves. Glad things are starting to improve.
Thanks for missing me, Val! I think I’ll be back this week. 🙂
If you would be so kind as to move your location every hour or two to find a new sunbeam, you would have feline snuggle partners all day long!
So glad it seems like you are feeling better and that you are surrounded by people (and rotten cats) that are supporting you.
Oh, Tammy, they would love that! Funny you should say that because just this evening, Cat One was very upset with me because I left a laundry basket on “his” spot at the end of our bed. He howled at me until I moved it, then relocated himself and got happy – and quiet. It’s unbelievable, really.
You didn’t mention, but I hope your RA is better too.
Did I really not include that? I should have. It is improving, yes, and that’s a very good thing!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I don’t think anyone should feel guilty about the time of linking a TTOT post. I’m just glad you joined the party!
Nope, no guilt – we had a beautiful weekend. I’m glad to make it in!
I’m glad the RA pain is easing up a bit. I pray that by next week, you’ll be able to say you feel SO MUCH BETTER.
Music is wonderful.
I like a good rainy day, too, as long as it is warm. We had a few this week, and I thoroughly enjoyed them.
Who cares when your post gets in? You did it, and that’s what’s important.
That is my hope and my goal, Christine.
I like my rainy days slightly cooler – not so warm that you feel icky and sweaty. That’s kind of what we had at least one day this week. I like to feel the need for a little sweater.
Yup, I did my post. Not my best effort, but it’s here!
so happy to hear some sunshine is streaming in through the darkness.
KITTIEEEESSS. I’m so jealous of kitties. I used to have a lot….but they eventually all passed of old age and whatnot. Now the hubs says NEVER AGAIN.
pffft. we’ll see about that.
Yeah, I’m feeling a lot better.
I have kitties EVERYWHERE. I like them far more than I ever imagined I would. And now that I’m working from home? They are my little buds.
Aw, rotten cats. I wish I weren’t allergic – Tucker REALLY wants one. Badly. So so glad to read that you’re feeling better. Rest is good. Good food is good. You are good. YAY for sunny days after rainy ones. <3
I am feeling a bit better. I’m looking forward to whatever is in the post you’ve written – looks like a good one. I’ll be over later tonight, probably.
I love your sky photo and wish I could paste it into our gloomy sky today. I don’t mind the rain and thunderstorms but I want a clear sky after they’ve finished and no such luck today. I’m very glad you are feeling better!
We are on day three of absolutely beautiful skies, Jean. i think a bit of rain for tomorrow, but just so gorgeous right now. Go right ahead and borrow the picture!
Love this list of thankfuls!! Are you feeling any better? I’m proud of you for listening to your body and RESTING… It’s so hard to do sometimes. Sunshine for us this past weekend too… and lots of rain last week. It was perfect. 🙂
Yes, Chris, I am feeling better. You’re right – taking care of ourselves is hard to remember. I think that’s how I ended up here. Gorgeous gorgeous weather again today. Perfect is the word! XOXO
That view! Is simply beautiful! I am thankful that spring is here as well. Your cats are good at what cats do, rest in the sunshine! It is good to read that you are feeling better and have a princess doll partner. It is always important to play princess dolls.
Pattie, we really do have a gorgeous view up here. It’s not perfectly unspoiled, but it’s pretty darn good.
Our cats are champion resters, that’s for sure. I am feeling better this week and my Daughter is my partner in all things. She’s pretty amazing.
Rotten cats are the best!
Glad you are feeling a bit better.
They definitely are, Yvonne! And mine are hilarious. I have a good photo to use for Wednesday’s post. Come back and check it out!
Another great list. For me, I’m also thankful for a rotten cat. She’s been a pest lately, but also affectionate. She makes messes, but then makes up for it by rubbing against my leg. Ugh, I can’t stay mad at her for too long. Another thing I (will) be thankful for is my wife giving birth to our son. It should have happened a few days ago, but it’s been holding off. It will happen any day now.
OOh, that’s right! I knew it was around this time. Wishing you all the best as you await your son’s arrival!
