We Remember…

Of course I am not the only one to post a 9/11 remembrance today.

Of course not, because eleven years later, it is still so terribly real and so terribly fresh.

I am still bothered when I think of what those towers stood for before that day…and what they continue to stand for now.

I am chilled to the bone to know that I actually knew at least one person who perished in those towers that day.

I am still moved by the grief, the heroism, and the strength experienced by so many on that day…and in all the days since.

And so, of course, we remember and we pray.

Eternal rest grant until them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May they rest in peace.  Amen.
